Angels are injuring each
other.
Phyllis
asks "The pair is very special to me and I enjoy
them tremendously, and I'm concerned that they are
going to hurt each other. One time, the bigger.. I
think the daddy - had his eye injured. Should maybe I
separate them for a while?"
Phyllis, I
assume you are referring to your mated pair, and not
the two fry you have raised. On that assumption...I
think it might do more harm than good to separate
them. Usually when they are separated one or both of
them become very territorial and they can then fight
like mad when put back together.
Instead of
separating them you might try putting other fish in
with them to provide some distraction. I used to use
Zebra Dianos, which are fast swimming (so the angels
are unlikely to catch and eat them) and unlikely to
bother the eggs that the angels will lay. A
half-dozen of them might provide enough distraction
so that the angels do not badly beat up on each
other.
If you
would like some thoughts on raising the fry away from
the parents, send me a private email and I will try
to help.
